SBS-Cyclon Battery Packs

Low-Maintenance Vented Batteries

Each 12V battery is housed in heavy-duty UL 94-V0 (oxygen index > 28% 0 rated) clear top and bottom flame-retardant covers and consists of six 2V, 25Ah cells connected in a series by copper connectors.

The SBS Cylcon Battery Pack has a design life of 10 years when operating on a constant potential charging system at the equivalent of 2.27 volts per cell at 77ºF (25ºC). Additionally, its high venting pressure (35-50 psi) will keep the unit from “dry out” in the harsh operating conditions typically found in cabinet applications. Since no acid or vapor is routinely vented, the BC6 may be installed in close proximity to sensitive electronic circuitry.

Each battery is fitted with a 18” harness that terminates in a 2-pin polarized plug-in connector that is compatible with AT&T, Northern Telecom, Fujitsu, Seicor, and Seimens Digital Loop Carrier equipment. The battery can be mounted in any orientation.

Charging
Temperature-compensated constant potential chargers are recommended. The BC6 will also operate satisfactorily in constant current charging systems that do not seriously overcharge the battery. However, at higher temperatures, float voltages or in constant current applications battery life will be reduced.
