Description

The security business has evolved beyond simple intrusion detection and surveillance monitoring. Security devices are typically now IP-based in order to send and receive data over the Internet to users at any location. The use of Ethernet networks, the Internet of Things (IoT), and wireless systems can now take door switch data and notify users that it is open or closed, whether they are on-site or not, all supported by advanced security cables.

Here are a few other examples. A thermostat control or CCTV camera can send its data off-site to users through security cables. HVAC, lighting, and shade controls can be programmed and actuated in areas when people are present. Actions can be based on access control data, such as badge readers, thumbprint or facial recognition, or proximity sensors. Card readers are evolving from Wiegand to OSDP and BACnet technologies, all connected by reliable security cables.

How do these trends affect cabling for security and other related systems today? As the security industry has evolved, so have security cables at Remee Wire & Cable. To meet today’s security and alarm wiring requirements, Remee offers any and all types of cabling needed. Take a look at our comprehensive Vigilance™ Series.

Description

Vigilance™ Security, Video, Alarm & Control Cables for Reliable Performance

Remee Wire & Cable provides cabling solutions for any alarm, security and control requirement:

Vigilance™ Security Cables

  • Standard Plenum-rated Security Cables – The 725 Series cable offering for 300V control, instrumentation and security cable installations features Remguard Plenum Polymer insulation and jackets over stranded copper conductors.  Shielded and unshielded versions are offered with a selection of AWG sizes and number of conductors.
  • Standard Riser-rated Security Cables – The 900 and R00 Series are Riser-rated versions of most of the 725 Series.  With PVC insulation and jackets, these riser cables are more flexible than their plenum-rated cousins.  They include stranded copper conductors and a choice of shielded or unshielded versions.  Also included in this series are several water blocked cables for Direct Burial use.

Vigilance™ Video / CCTV Security & Alarm Wires

  • Video / CCTV Cables – Remee offers a selection of RG59/U Composite Video coax cables with braid shields, as well as Siamese versions with an added power pair, in both Plenum-rated and Riser-rated versions.  Water-blocking tape is available for direct burial use on OSP braid-shielded coax cables, with or without a power pair.  The Siamese direct burial version with the power pair features both the coax and the power pair bundled under an overall outer PVC jacket.

Vigilance™ Standard Fire Alarm Cables

  • Standard Plenum-rated Fire Alarm Cables – The 760 Series fire alarm cables feature solid conductors and are rated FPLP.  Also see our full line of Fire Alarm Cables which includes cables meeting the stringent NY Local Law 5 requirements.
  • Standard Riser-rated Fire Alarm Cables – The R00 Series fire alarm cables feature solid conductors and are rated FPLR.  Also see our full line of Fire Alarm Cables which includes cables meeting the stringent NY Local Law 5 requirements.

Vigilance™ Lighting & Shade Control Cables

Remee’s control cables for lighting and window shade controls feature special constructions and bundled cables.

  • Lighting & Control – The LUG and LUQ Series composite cables include a data component and a power component.  They have been designed for use with Lutron, Crestron, Control4, Elan, AMX or similar automation control systems.  Choose from several AWG sizes in various multi-conductor and multi-pair configurations with different shield combinations.  Cables are Plenum-rated with Remguard Plenum Polymer jackets or Riser-rated with PVC jackets.

Vigilance™ Thermostat Control Cables

  • Thermostat Control Series – This line of 18 AWG control cables features a selection of 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, and 10 solid bare copper conductors.  All cables are unshielded, with choice of plenum and non-plenum rated versions.

Vigilance™ Access Control Cables

These newly engineered security cables from Remee have been designed specifically for access control technologies, such as Wiegand, the Open Supervised Device Protocol (OSDP) specification, and BACnet (a communication protocol for Building Automation and Control networks).

  • Direct Burial Composite for Wet Locations – this OSP and Riser-rated composite cable features four components cabled together with a water blocking tape and overall UV-resistant PVC jacket, suitable for wet locations.  Meets the Wiegand security cable standard.  PART NO. R00907WBT
  • OSDP / RS-485 Composite Cable – Card reader cables, such as the OSDP/RS-485 Composite Cable, are designed to support advanced security systems. This new design features a 22AWG 2-Pair Low Capacitance Shielded component for use with OSDP and other card readers using encrypted transmissions. An overall foil shield is provided on this component for use in high EMI environments. PART NO. 725953M1V.
  • All-Shielded Composite Cable – This new Plenum-rated Access Control composite cable features a foil shield for each of the four component cables for maximum EMI protection in high noise environments.  Meets the Wiegand security cable standard.  PART NO. 725914
  • Wiegand Access Control Cables – These Plenum- and Riser-rated composite cables each include a 22AWG 3-Pair foil shielded component for protection against EMI.  The Plenum-rated version features a Remguard Plenum Polymer jacket, while the Riser-rated version includes a PVC jacket.  Meets the Wiegand security cable standard.  PART NOs. 725901 (CMP) and R00907 (CMR)

Important Remee Features:

  • Flexibility – Cables with stranded conductors provide high flexibility to ease installation in walls or ceilings; Remee uses only solid copper strands – no aluminum-coated copper
  • Stripability – Remee PVC and LSPVC jackets are easy to peel or strip away from conductors
  • Interference Protection – All cables with foil shields include 100% coverage to prevent signal interference or degradation from egress or ingress
  • Water-Blocking – Remee cables with water-swellable tape or water-blocking compounds provide a moisture barrier for direct burial or other applications where the cable is exposed to water or moisture
  • Bundling – Remee bundled and composite cables allow multiple signals to traverse over more than one cable under one overall jacket; this simplifies installation, with only one cable needing to be pulled for installation, rather than multiple cables
  • Jacket Options – Remee offers several jacketing options:
    • RemGuard Polymer jackets for plenum-rated cables with low flammability and low smoke
    • LSZH (Low Smoke Zero Halogen) jackets made of thermoplastic or thermoset compounds that emit limited smoke and no toxic halogen gasses
    • Ask us about other polyolefin compounds to suit your application
