Unplugged or Powered, 10/100BASE-TX to 100BASE-FX Rate Converter

The Model 1100R standalone fiber optic rate converter provides a convenient way of utilizing your existing 10BASE-T or 100BASE-TX copper ports on PCs, laptops and workstations to connect to a 100BASE-FX fiber network. Now with one converter you can support either network speed. The Unplugged rate converter is an innovative solution available exclusively from Opterna. Powered by the PC, the Model 1100R unplugged rate converter eliminates the need for a separate power supply. A “Y” cable is inserted inline between the keyboard and the PC’s keyboard port to draw power from the PC. Unplugged is an ideal solution for environments where AC power outlets are unavailable and power strips are not a safe or attractive option.
